Spring Enrichments

STEAM

Schedule: Preschool: Tuesday 2:45-3:45pm | Elementary: Wednesday 3:15-4:15pm

What to Expect:

Collage Day School takes pride in fostering a dynamic and innovative learning environment, where students are not just educated but inspired to explore the realms of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). Our commitment to STEAM enrichment goes beyond textbooks, creating an experiential journey that sparks creativity, critical thinking, and a lifelong passion for learning. STEAM enrichment is not just an educational approach; it’s a philosophy that shapes the learning journey of each student. Through a blend of hands-on experiences, innovative programs, and a commitment to diversity, the school prepares its students to thrive in a world where creativity, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary knowledge are the keys to success.

Why STEAM?

  • STEAM is an approach to learning that results in children who take thoughtful risks, engage in hands-on learning, persist in problem solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process.
  • STEAM adds the arts into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and focuses on using technology to teach art practices, elements, and design principles.
  • Innovation is the difference between simply using technology and taking it beyond the instruction manual to bring ideas to life. The children that sign up for our STEAM programs will learn to take their ideas to the next level through advanced technology.

Sports Club

Schedule: Tuesday- Football 3:15-4:15pm | Thursday- Basketball 3:15-4:15pm| Friday- Baseball 3:15-4:15pm

What To Expect:

When your child joins either of these programs, they will begin by learning the fundamentals of basketball, baseball, and football such as proper dribbling, shooting, passing, and defensive technique while being taught terminology throughout. Other concepts that you can expect your child to learn for are fouls, out of bounds, the switch of ball possession, the breakdown of offense and defense, and the basketball court layout. For football, you can expect your child to learn penalties, turnovers(interceptions and fumbles), the breakdown of offense, defense, and special teams, and the football field layout.  Baseball provides students with the opportunity to learn the rules of the game, proper hitting, and throwing technique.  Every child is at a different stage of their athletic development, and by playing sports for over 15 years and counting, Josh will modify and personalize his  teachings to every child regardless of their current skill level. Josh has always resorted to sports as a way to exercise and maintain a healthy lifestyle, and his main priority is to introduce your child to a fun way of achieving that through their participation of this sports enrichment. Lastly, your child will learn the responsibility of becoming a student-athlete with an emphasis of doing their best in the classroom. Student comes first, athlete comes second. Josh looks forward to nothing more than working with your child and guiding them throughout this program.

Joshua Cuddy coordinates the basketball, baseball, and football enrichments here at Collage Day School. Josh has experience as a personal trainer and always prioritizes maintaining a healthy lifestyle for everyone, especially children. Josh grew up playing six different sports in high school and has a passion for sharing what he has learned with the next generation of young athletes. Sports have always been his way of exercising and keeping him motivated to  improve both physically and mentally. In addition, Josh loves sharing that passion with every child he has the privilege of meeting. No matter where we are in the school year, your child is ALWAYS welcome to join our growing group of young athletes in these programs!
