Upper grades will research impacts of immigrants from other countries on our society. In addition, students will explore different way countries celebrate holidays around the world. We would love for families to come in and share their own holiday traditions with our students! If you are interested, please contact your child’s teacher or Mrs. Danielle.

SOCIAL SKILLS GROUP**
For many children, managing the social world day in and day out eventually presents challenges. Some children may struggle with social flexibility, or sudden frustration, or wanting to engage but just struggling to figure out how. Mandala Family Wellness is proud to offer a group designed to improve children’s confidence, fluidity, and excitement about making and maintaining friendships. Guided by Mandala therapists, children will learn highly effective and applicable social skills to improve their navigation of relationships and bolster their self-esteem.
** Social skills group is now open to 3, 4, and 5-year-olds with our “Little Leaders” program.

Staying Healthy with Nurse Chelsea
During this time of year, viruses are unfortunately all too common. In Particular:
Hand, Foot, and Mouth
- HFM is caused by Coxsackie Virus, although there are multiple strains which vary in severity.
- Incubation period can range from 2 to 7 days
- Infectivity can vary from person to person, but virus can be shed in stool for several weeks
- Spreads from person to person via respiratory secretions, fecal-oral shedding, or contact with fluid from sores.
Students may return to school when:
- Fever free for longer than 24 hours without medication
- Rashed no longer continue to spread
- All sores have been scabbed over
Minimize transmission by:
- Washing hands well with soap and water and minimizing close contacts
- Disinfect surfaces that come into contact with drool or stool
